How To Download a Font & Get It Workin'!

Like many of you, I am obsessed with fonts...and if you follow my blog, you'll know I'm totally {IN LOVE} with my new iPad and all the cool apps, especially iFontMaker....well worth the price! My latest font in called Hello Skinny....here's a glyph sheet of it and here is a direct link to it in the 2ttf gallery.  Further on down this post, I have created a screencast to show you how to download a font, unzip a font and save it to your computer so it's usable and viewable in your font list.

I have added direct links to all my fonts in the right sidebar of my blog.

The letters used in the "I {{{heart}}} FONTS!" title above is actually lettering called ALPHABETS, which you too can enjoy by following the pink *** 9 Free Fonts *** button the right sidebar of my blog.

Also, check out my new "MiXeD-uP DoOdLe BoRdEr SeT"...I can created a set of 24 black and white page borders (some of you call them frames)...here is a preview.

...and here is a freebie from the set....

(This screencast made with Jing by Techsmith...free and EaSy!!)

Hello Fonts I've Created So Far....newest are Hello Belle & Hello D'Nealie...

Happy Reading! -Jen Jones

  4. I LOVE the borders! I have an iPad2. I noticed you have all your apps organized into folders. Is this something only the 3 does?

    1. I bought an iPad 2, too. (I don't have the 3). You should be able to group your apps into folders on your 2...do you know how to do that? Just hold down the app til you get them jiggling with x's. Then "push" one app over the other app that you want to group together and it will automatically form a folder which you rename or leave the default name. Hope that helps!

  6. Are your fonts available to use in my TpT products? Do I need to add a note giving you credit? (I'll do it anyway since I heart your fonts {especially HelloFirstie--even though I teach third!})

    1. Laura...great question! Yes, absolutely you may use my fonts in your TpT products, for sale or for free...just mention "[font name] font by Jen Jones @ helloliteracy.blogspot.com.....thanks! And thanks for loving my handwriting! Even though I taught first grade for 16 years, I named that font Hello Firstie because it was the first font I made. Either way works...maybe I need to make a Hello Thirdie...mmmmm. Take care...Jen Jones

    1. Kirsten...let me tell how to get the alphabet in my blog title and the font in my blog subtitle...navigate to square pink "9 free fonts" link in my right sidebar, then create an account. Search "alphabets" for Funky Chunky (or Chunky Funky) and search "fonts" for LD Carefree for the subtitle font. Have fun!

  22. First, you have to be on a desktop or laptop. Then in the right sidebar, above the section called My Followers, is a section called, My Fonts. They all begin with the word HELLO...I hope you can find them, I added a new one tonight, Hello Wobblie. Do you think I should move them the sidebar, higher?
